May ‘22 marks a new phase for DataGroomr. We are officially releasing our Salesforce Lightning Component (beta). In addition, we continue to iterate our existing features and UI. Read on to discover the highlights and as always, you can find a detailed list of all our updates and fixes on the DataGroomr Support Portal.
Keep in mind that many of the updates we make were driven by requests submitted to the Ideas Exchange portal. So, keep them coming.
Lightning Component
When we initially designed DataGroomr, our thinking was that duplicate management was primarily an Admin responsibility. Our customers have told us otherwise 😊. In response, we are announcing the availability of DataGroomr Lightning component (beta) in Salesforce AppExchange. Once installed, the component can be added to any record page layout. Here is a screenshot of what you will see in Lightning:
The current release is limited to displaying potential duplicates, but we look to expand capabilities, adding features such as the ability to merge.
We would welcome your feedback and suggestions. Please use the Ideas Exchange portal or email us directly.
Trimmr Enhancements
We are constantly tweaking DataGroomr UI and functionality to make deduplication simple but balance that with the features required to get the job done.
Filter Records by Match Confidence
Users can now do a quick filter based on Match Confidence. Here is a video that shows you how.
Clone Dataset
Users can now create duplicates of existing datasets using the new clone option. This gives you the ability to quickly create similar datasets without the need to reconfigure all the options.
Cross-Object Compare for Any Dataset
Trimmr now supports cross-object compare and merge between any Salesforce objects. The functionality of selecting the Parent (surviving record) followed by the Child dataset has not changed, but had been limited in previous releases.
Brushr Enhancements
Brushr gets a couple new features to make bulk editing in the Review pane easier. You can access both using the gear icon.
Show Empty Fields
Lets users hide fields where no values are available. If toggled, the empty fields will be removed from the review window.
Select Display Fields
Lets users change the fields displayed in the review window. Click on the Select Display Fields button, select/unselect the fields you need and press Save (requires user to reopen the window after change).
Importr Enhancements
Select Matching Models
When analyzing CSV files for duplicates in Importr, users have been limited to using the default matching model defined for the target object on initial upload. In this release, we have added the ability for users to select any available model in the import wizard.
Other Enhancements
Redirect to a requested link after login
When logging into DataGroomr, users can now access any page (such as a specific dataset) via a URL (e.g., https://app.datagroomr.com/trimmr/Contact).
Previously, users were automatically forwarded to the main Dashboard upon login
What’s coming in the next release?
We are working on some API enhancements targeted for the Importr module. The goal is to give users an ability to automate and integrate CSV duplicate detection and imports with external systems. We are also working on some other enhancements. Keep your eye on these release notes to learn more.
We appreciate your feedback and if there are other features that are important to you, we invite you to submit them to the Ideas Exchange portal or vote on existing features already there.
As always, we would like to remind you that we offer a free, 14-day trial of DataGroomr. Please feel free to forward this article to your Trailblazer colleagues.
