Fall ’23 Updates: API Gets Some Love

By November 13, 2023November 14th, 2023No Comments

Over the past few months, we have released a slew of small enhancements and UI improvements plus a major update to our API.

Read on to discover the highlights and, as always, you can find a detailed list of all our updates and fixes on the DataGroomr Support Portal.

Many of the updates we made were requests submitted to the Ideas Exchange portal. So, keep them coming.

API for Data Ingestion

The DataGroomr team released our initial API Integration a few years ago.  This webhooks technology is designed to allow downstream systems to trigger actions based on DataGroomr events, such as a merge operation.

With the popularity of the Importr module, customers have been requesting a programmatic way to integrate Importr functionality with upstream systems, such as marketing automation platforms and 3rd party data vendors. In this release, we have expanded the DataGroomr API to provide that functionality.  The new API allows customers to programmatically manage Importr datasets and execute jobs (Analyze/Import/Update), fully automating this process. Learn more.

We plan to continue expanding API features based on customer input.  Please don’t hesitate to contribute your ideas in our portal

Column Resizing

Another common request from customers is the ability to resize columns inside a Review window.  Users can now resize all or individual columns in Trimmr, Brushr or Importr.

You may notice another cool feature in the video above.  In Trimmr, resizing the master record will also resize the rest of the columns. Double click will resize a column to fit to the content and a second double click will revert back to the default width.

Trimmr Enhancements

Tags

The ability to apply tags to matched groups was introduced earlier in the year and has become a popular feature with many requests for enhancements.  The current release includes two of these.

Include Tags with Export

When running an export of matched records, tags can be included in the export file.

Mass Merge using Tags

Mass merge can now be limited to tagged records.  In conjunction with the export functionality, this opens multiple scenarios for “review/approval prior to merge” workflows.

You can find the Tags option in the Mass Merge window.

Undo Merge: Remove related contact/account from master record

Previously, Undo Merge operations moved related contacts and accounts to restored records, but also left these relationships behind in the master (surviving) record.  With the current release, these relationships will be automatically removed from the master record, restoring it closer to its state prior to the initial merge.

What’s Coming in the Next Release?

In the next few releases, we anticipate pushing out a major update to the Undo functionality, support for Importr data loads from cloud-based storage, and some cool new functionality for Merge and Transform rules.

Please stay tuned for these release announcements, and as always, we appreciate your feedback. If there are other features that are important to you, we invite you to submit them to the Ideas Exchange portal or vote on existing features already listed there.

Since we always offer a free 14-day trial of DataGroomr, feel free to forward this article to your Trailblazer colleagues. They can start the free trial by logging in with their Salesforce credentials. With no setup required, they too can manage duplicates  in their data right away!

Happy DataGrooming, Trailblazers!
