It’s been more than 2 months since my last update, but don’t let that fool you. We have made numerous UI Enhancements and quite a few changes “under the hood” that significantly improve performance and stability, especially on large datasets.
Read on to discover the highlights and, as always, you can find a detailed list of all our updates and fixes on the DataGroomr Support Portal.
Many of the updates we made were requests submitted to the Ideas Exchange portal. So, keep them coming.
Trimmr Enhancements
Undo All for Mass Merge
If you are an enterprise subscription customer, you have likely used the Undo feature to reverse an erroneous merge. This feature received a couple of upgrades based on customer feedback. The first is an option to UNDO ALL (records in a mass merge).
Previously, users were limited to restoring 50 merges at a time. Now, users can restore all the merged records in a Mass Merge job using a single click.
Use Related Record Fields for Filtering
The filtering option for datasets has been extended to allow users to select fields in related records as a filtering condition.
Importr Enhancements
Assign Campaign when updating individual records
Users can assign a campaign when individual matched records are updated. Previously, campaign assignment was only available with Mass Update.
Supervisr Enhancements
Configure Field Weights for Classic Models
One of the more popular features available to our customers for a quick deduping process is our Classic Matching Model. If you haven’t used it before, these types of models allow you to select a set of fields and then DataGroomr will find all records where one or more of these fields are an exact match. Each field was given a weight equivalent to the total number of fields in the model. So, if there were 2 fields, each would be 50, 3 would be 33, 4 would be 25, etc. With this release, these weights are adjustable, which allow users to select higher or lower weighting for different fields.
Field Value Concat Function Update
The Concat rule now includes an option to include or exclude the value of the master record.
Miscellaneous Enhancements
Stop Jobs
You will now see a STOP button when viewing mass job status in Auditr and various other location in Trimmr, Brushr and Importr. Pressing this button will halt the job.
Note: When a job is stopped, no additional commands will be received from DataGroomr. Any ongoing Salesforce actions may continue.
Auditr Logs Purged after 12 Months
The logs located in Log Browser will be automatically purged after 1 year. This was done for better management of storage and data security.
Progress Bars added for Export
In addition to Jobs, a progress bar has been added to exports. The progress bar provides feedback to the user when exporting large data sets or running a long job.
Convert option added to Lightning Component
We added a Salesforce Lightning component a few months ago to allow users to view and optionally, merge records directly in Salesforce. This component has now been extended to support the Convert functionality for Leads in Contacts and Leads in Accounts duplicates.
Error Handling Enhancement
We added a few enhancements for easier diagnosis of error messages returned from Salesforce.
- Auditr – errors related to a specific field will include the field name along with the error.
- Login – when a login failure is related to a Salesforce error, this message will be posted on the login page.
What’s Coming in the Next Release?
Over the next few months, we will be releasing several enhancements for building and training Machine Learning models designed for your data.
Please stay tuned for these release announcements, and as always, we appreciate your feedback. If there are other features that are important to you, we invite you to submit them to the Ideas Exchange portal or vote on existing features already there.
