DataGroomr began its journey with data quality as the cornerstone of our company. Several years ago we wrote about our long-term vision in 6 Attributes of High Quality Data. The first puzzle piece (of course) was our deduplication solution. This was quickly followed by a data verification feature. This month our product team has rolled out 3 additional elements: analysis of data completeness, formatting consistency and timeliness.
We have drawn from additional suggestions received on the Ideas Exchange, to add the ability for users to bypass Salesforce duplicate and assignment rules. Read on to discover even more upgrades. As always, a detailed list of all our updates, improvements and fixes are listed on the DataGroomr Support Portal.
Finally, I want to make a special announcement about a major achievement by the entire DataGroomr team. We are excited and proud to announce the achievement of SOC2 Type 2 and HIPAA certification. This was a multi-month effort that demonstrates our commitment to delivering the best and most secure data quality solution for Salesforce.
Salesforce Data Quality Scoring
Users can now create rules that score the quality of their data from the Supervisr module. A predefined rule checking for value completeness is included out of the box. You can modify this rule for your own needs or add other rules for that check for data format consistency and timeliness. As always, we would love to hear your feedback on these new features.
Below is an example of a Completeness rule that evaluates the fields (listed on the left) in the Contact object. If the field is not empty, the score is incremented by 100 points. At the end, the total score is divided by the number of fields and rounded to the nearest whole number.
This rule below evaluates address fields for format consistency, making sure that the full name of a country and state are used, the formatting of a zip code is correct and that a phone number follows the E164 standard of [+] [country code] [subscriber number including area code] with maximum of fifteen digits
In this timeliness rule we are scoring records based on aging. For the rule below you can select any time/data field and the rule will add 10 points if the value is less than 1 month and subtract 10 points if the values is more than 6 months.
View Object Data Quality Models in Brushr
Associate your newly created data quality rules with your Brushr datasets, which allows you to quickly and accurately visualize live results using ring diagrams. The diagrams below show you an example of these rules.
Brushr and Trimmr Dataset List View
Do you have too many datasets in Brushr and Trimmr that are causing you to run out of valuable onscreen real estate? No problem! The ability to view your datasets as a list or table view has been added, allowing you to view important attributes about your dataset quickly.
Bypass Assignment and Duplicate Rules
Users can now choose whether they wish to bypass standard Salesforce assignment and duplicate rules during a merge or update operation directly inside the Trimmr and Brushr datasets. In certain situations, the execution of these Salesforce rules could trigger unintentional actions and result in lengthy merge operations. This setting will suppress these rules and is accessed from the Advanced section or the Trimmr dataset Merge Rules tab.
Change the Order of Fields Within Supervisr
Fields shown within the Rule Preview panel can now be re-ordered by dragging and dropping the three-dots located at the left of each fieldname, allowing users to better visualize how their data will be changed by showcasing the top fields that are most relevant to them.
Schedule Mass Verify Jobs in Verify App
Subscribers to the Verify app have been requesting the ability to schedule autonomous verification jobs. This has now been added and as with the DataGroomr platform, jobs can be scheduled using the Schedulr module.
Role-based Permissions on Tags
Another requested feature that made it into this release is the ability to access tags based on user role. This option can limit which groups can assign which tags to matched groups in Trimmr.
As shown below, we have added a new tab in the Roles definition window to perform this function.
What’s Coming in the Next Release?
We have another release scheduled just around the corner, targeting some minor updates and fixes but you never know 😊.
Please stay tuned for these release announcements, and as always, we appreciate your feedback. If there are other features that are important to you, we invite you to submit them to the Ideas Exchange portal or vote on existing features already listed there.
